In order to decrease the chance that your actual eyeballs bleed from the trauma of reading and grading 300 poorly written essays, you institute peer reviews. You hope that students will help each other improve their essays before you grade them. In this session, I will take you through the process of designing a masterpiece peer review experience (in Canvas, or in live courses with Google Docs). Each part of the peer review process is critical to maximize learning: your vision, rubric design, student training and practice, assigning peer-reviewers (who and why), accountability of reviewers, using reviewer feedback, and reflection.
