"I try to gear my curriculum to be culturally relevant to my Navajo students. This lesson can be used for all students who wants to point out social justice issues. The Norman Rockwell's 4 Freedoms by using the Norman Rockwell Virtual Museum (https://www.nrm.org/). This virtual museum allows students to dive into the museum, examine the various Norman Rockwell art throughout history. By clicking on the pictures, students are able to read primary sources, watch videos, and read the artist's statements. I also teach them how to use art to give them a voice. I ask them if they see themselves in these paintings. I ask them to write their thoughts in a Canvas Discussion. Then we view the art of Norman Rockwell Reimagine. I ask them to read the artist's statement and pick an art they feel connected to. Finally, create their own NR Reimagine painting. I found this a powerful tool because they discovered other cultures and races in the US who feel the same as they do. Designing my curriculum to include cross-curricular activities that involves diving deep into social issues of today. "
